Apprentice Support Worker

Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to work for Chartwell Trust Care within our specialist residential homes supporting individuals with Learning disabilities, Autism, challenging behavior and complex needs. The Apprentice will play an important team role in the day-to-day planning, organisation and smooth running of the home, to ensure all daily tasks and objectives are met. You will gain experience in a working environment, and learn how to communicate with other support staff, Team Leaders Manager’s and other visiting professional bodies.

 

Duties to include:

  • Assisting the residents in all daily tasks
  • Activity duties
  • Personal care duties
  • Supporting residents to access their local community
  • Filling out relevant documentation
  • Offering assistance to residents needs
  • Domestic duties around the home

Desired skills

  • Candidates need to have good communication skills
  • They must also have confidence and professionalism when dealing with residents
  • Flexibility and punctuality are essential for this post as shift work will be required
  • Experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • A willingness to learn

Personal qualities

  • Candidates must have the attitude to work, with a presentable appearance.
  • The candidate must also be outgoing with an ambition to progress their career with Chartwell Trust Care
  • Be prepared to undertake all mandatory training

Desired qualifications

GCSE A*-D/3 or above in Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications

Things to consider

Successful candidates must be able to provide a clear DBS check. Due to early start times 7.30am and latest shift 9.30pm please ensure you can travel on a daily basis. We have both full time and part time hours available across all of our Leicester homes
